Trapped in the hospital elevator

What about the baby kicking me, alot? Early in the pregnancy it hadn't been kicking as much but since the due date is fast approaching, that all has changed. It has been hard to sleep at night lately because of the kicking! We tried reading, singing and talking to him but nothing seems to work? I told Kelly
Lulu, thats fine, he just letting you know hes there, replied Kelly

Dante and I were on our way down to the main floor after seeing Kelly. It was the last doctor's visit before the baby was born. We were talking about the baby and the baby shower that was happening today at his mom's house...

When all of a sudden, the elevator stopped. Dante went to the emergency phone but for some reason it wasn't work and our phones had a busy signal. Dante was pounding the door, when all of a sudden, I screamed
Dante, I'm having a contraction
Lulu, sit down and breath, I'm going to try the emergency phone again.
This time it worked

Hello, Hello, yeah, we're stuck in the elevator and my wife is having a contractions, replied Dante
Ok, Ok, alright please hurry!
Umm, Lulu, umm I got some good and bad news. Good news is they know that the elevator has stopped. The bad news is that power is out all over the city and it will take at least 10 hours before they can get to us.
They are senting someone the find and get Kelly...
WHAT! NO! OW! here comes another contraction. DANNNNTE!

"It's too soon for the baby!" I said "OK, Lulu just breathe. They'll send someone here when they can" I sighed, come on people it's an emergency I thought

To calm myself down and to get my mind off the pain.
I asked, Sam, what are you doing at the hospital for?

"I'm here for that new fertility procedure," I said, talking was a good way to keep her mind of the pain so I asked her "Are you having a boy or a girl, or did you opt for a surprise?"

Girl, Dante replies
Boy, I replied

I had to laugh "In other words, you're keeping it a surprise". Lulu seemed a bit more relaxed, and after what felt like forever, we felt the elevator start up and reach the floor, the doctors walked, and saw Lulu breathing hard. Monica was among them and she went straight for Lulu.
"What's wrong, Lulu?" she asked "Is it your baby?"

Yes, do something I don't want to lose the baby
OK We need a gurney, quickly, and lets get her into a cubicle and call Kelly, Monica telling the nurses,
Get her hooked up to monitors and put a fetus monitor on the baby.
Dante, you need to clear out of here so we have room to work. I'll let you know after she gets checked out, replied Monica
Will she lose the baby? asked Dante
Not if I can help it, replied Monica, the faster Kelly and I can find out whats wrong,the sooner I can come and get you.

(Dante) I went out into the waiting room and tried to sit still but I couldn't. I see Sam and Jason waiting for news as well. I should call Luke, Tracy and my mom to tell them what was going on with Lulu but I couldn't speak, I was so worry that Lulu would lose the baby, all I could do is pray and ask God not to take the baby away fron Lulu.

"Is there anything I can do, Monica?" I asked, anxiously

You could pray and call her family and Olivia. It doesn't look good but we're trying to save the baby. They could use a miracle right about now, replied Monica, its touch and go at this point, so we won't know for sure until tomorrow.

As soon as we reached the main floor I ran over to the reception
"Lulu went into labour during the power outage" I told Epiphany "Can I use the phone to call Olivia?"
"Of course" said Epiphany "Where is Lulu now?"
"With Dr Quartermaine and Dr Lee" I said. I picked up the phone
"Olivia? Lulu went into labour, baby is touch and go. You need to get here NOW!"
"I'm on my way" said Olivia

(Olivia) I came as soon as I got off the phone with Sam. My son and Lulu needed me. Lulu is like a daughter to me. If something happens to Lulu or the baby, my son would need me more than ever. I got tho the hospital and went directly to my son. Dante, have you heard anything more about Lulu and the baby, I asked, Sam just told me that I had to get here fast.
No ma ma, they are still working on her and the baby, replied Dante, Ma ma, I can't lose them. I just can't.

Jason arrived because he wanted to be there for me during the procedure, one look at Dante, Olivia and I told him something was wrong
"Sam, what happened?" he asked
"Lulu and I were in the elevator when the power went off" I said "And we were trapped in there . . .and Lulu . . .well, she went into labour, Jason"
"What?!" gasped Jason "How are she and the baby?"
"Jason!" said Monica
"Sam just told me about Lulu and the baby, how are they?"
"Touch and go, we could all pray for a miracle" she said
Olivia was hugging Dante
"Shh. Dante, Lulu is tough and babies are surprisingly resilient" she was saying

(Dante) I saw Monica come out of Lulu's room and I went to her.
Monica, "how are Lulu and the baby?", I asked her
Its touch and go still, we gave her something to stop the contractions, if she doesn't have any more for the next 48 hours, I would say that she and the baby will be fine. But, after the 48 hrs. she will still be in the hospital for at least a month, replied Monica, this way we can closely monitor her. When she leaves the hospital she will be on bed rest for another month, no working, no stress, no lifting and sorry to say this NO s** until she is "ok" by Kelly or me. She will also need help getting in and out of bed and only to shower and use the bathroom. If she wants to sit on the couch, she can, but she is not to walk any further then that.
Monica, does she know all of this?, asked Dante
Yes, she does, but she's not happy, replied Monica, and if there is any more problems when she gets home, you are to call immediately. We'll worry about that before she leaves the hospital.
Can I see her now, asked Dante
Go right in, she a little out of it, replied Monica, she needs to stay calm.

Dante... is that you?, I quietly asked
(Dante) Yes, Hi, hon, you gave me quite a scare...
Wha... about the baby, Dante?
(Dante) the baby is fine, you just need to rest... you will be in here for awhile.

Kelly called me and Jason over for the procedure. She told me lie down and countdown from ten while they give me the anasthetic.

"Ten, nine, eight. . . "I soon drifted off, and the procedure began

Dante can you come and lay beside me, please?
I don't know if I should, Lulu, I don't want hurt you or the baby!
Please, Dante, at least until I fall asleep, I begged.
All right, Lulu, but just until you fall asleep, replied Dante

They didn't move or make a sound when the nurse came in to check on Lulu...
They never knew that their families and doctors came in to check on them...

(GH staff) Morning came and Lulu and Dante slept. It wasn't until later that day, that they started to wake....

Dante, Dante, wake up!
What, Lulu, is everything ok, asked Dante.
Yes, I think the contractions have stopped.
Thats good news, replied Dante.
I yawned, What time is it?
Dante was stretched and when he checked his watch.
OMG, Lulu, we slept through the night and into the evening of the next day, replied Dante.
What! we must have been very tired to sleep through the night. I didn't heard anyone coming to check on us, I replied. Just then there was knock on the door
